Things to Do in Hatta: Kayaking Prices, Hiking Trails and the AED 25 Bus From Dubai
Hatta is Dubai's mountain town, ninety minutes from the city, with a turquoise dam lake in the Hajar range. Here is what to do there, what each thing costs from the official price lists, when the season runs, and how to do it all by bus.

Short answer
The best things to do in Hatta are kayaking on Hatta Dam (AED 75 single, AED 150 double, no time limit), hiking the 32.6 km of marked trails from Hatta Wadi Hub, mountain biking a separate 32.6 km network, and the free Hatta Heritage Village. From Dubai, RTA bus H02 leaves Dubai Mall every two hours for AED 25 and takes about 90 minutes; a AED 2 loop bus links the sights. Most activities run from 1 October to 5 May.
Hatta is the part of Dubai most visitors never see: an exclave in the Hajar mountains on the Oman border, with a dam lake, old watchtowers and trails into bare rock hills. It is a full day out from the city, or a cheap night under canvas.
How we checked. Prices and hours come from the official pages of Hatta Kayak, Visit Hatta (Dubai's tourism site for Hatta), Dubai Municipality and the RTA, checked on 5 November 2026. Where only an older news report gives a price, we say which and when. Prices change by season, so check on the day.

Hiking and mountain biking in Hatta
Hatta Wadi Hub is the trailhead for both networks. The hiking trails total 32.6 km over five routes, colour-coded by difficulty, and the trail map is a free PDF on Visit Hatta. The mountain-bike network is separate and also 32.6 km over five routes, from beginner to experienced, with bikes and protective gear for hire at the hub. Hiking is free.
- Start at first light from October to April, and be off the exposed rock by late morning.
- Carry far more water than you think. There is no shade on most routes.
- Hiking gear is not sold or rented at the hub, so bring proper shoes.
- Rain changes everything. Wadis flood fast; stay out of wadi beds when rain is forecast and follow police closures. Most hub activities pause in rain, but hiking, biking and kayaking may continue at your own risk.
Hatta Heritage Village and the Honeybee Garden
Hatta Heritage Village is a restored mud-brick village with a fort and watchtowers above the old town. Dubai Municipality lists it as free to enter and open daily from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm. Hatta Honeybee Garden & Discovery Center is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm (Gulf News, July 2025), with guided tours and honey tasting; check the current ticket price on arrival.
