A working mosque on the Buhaira Corniche by Khalid Lagoon, with Turkish-style domes and minarets that light up at night. It is the Sharjah mosque best known for welcoming non-Muslims: the Sharjah Centre for Cultural Communication, a non-profit backed by the Awqaf General Trust, runs free guided visits where volunteer guides explain the building, the basics of Islam and Emirati customs, and answer questions over Arabic coffee (gahwa).
