Savandurga
Said to be one of the largest monolithic hills in Asia, a single granite mass rising sharply from the plains. The climb is a scramble over open rock rather than a forest trail, exposed and hot by late morning — start early. A classic Bengaluru weekend trek, best avoided in peak midday heat.

How to reach it
Bus or taxi from Bengaluru towards Magadi, then Savandurga village; the trailhead starts near the base temple.
