Toubkal Circuit
Most Marrakech operators sell only a rushed 2-day guided dash to the Toubkal summit; the wider circuit through the Azzaden valley and Berber villages like Tacheddirt and Tizi Oussem via Lake Ifni gets you the same summit (4,167m, North Africa's highest) plus days of real Atlas village life the rushed version skips entirely.

6 days, Hard grade, up to 4,167m. Best season: April-June and September-October (avoid deep winter snow unless equipped for it). Base: Imlil, 1-1.5 hr drive from Marrakech. Suits: Solo, Couple, Group.
How to reach it
Grand taxi or arranged transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (~65 km); from there it's on foot, with mules carrying gear and supplies.
Permits
A licensed mountain guide is legally mandatory inside Toubkal National Park (under Morocco's tourist-guide law, Loi 05-12) — book through a registered Imlil guides' bureau, not an informal freelancer.
Gear
Guide and mule team handle logistics; bring warm layered clothing and sturdy boots, plus crampons/ice axe if trekking outside summer — confirm current conditions with your guide.
