Chottanikkara & Kodungallur — Devi circuit
Two of Kerala's most visited Devi (goddess) temples, both associated with healing and protection traditions, and easily combined from Kochi. Chottanikkara is renowned for its rituals around mental and emotional wellbeing; Kodungallur, one of the oldest temple towns on this coast, has a very different, more intense festival character.

Where to stay
Base in Kochi — both temples are comfortable day trips, so an overnight isn't necessary unless combining with festival dates.
Food
Kochi has the widest food choice on this route; both temple towns have simple local meals houses.
Local tip: Kodungallur is also one of the oldest trading ports on the Malabar coast, with layers of Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Hindu history worth an hour beyond the temple itself.
