Marari Beach
A quiet fishing village beach near Alleppey where the catch comes in by hand-pulled net at dawn, and the loudest thing on the sand is the surf.

Mararikulam, or Marari, is a straight, quiet stretch of coast just north of Alleppey, still a working fishing village rather than a resort district. Fishermen haul in nets by hand most mornings, and the beach stays uncrowded because there is no boardwalk or beach-shack strip to draw a crowd. It pairs naturally with Alleppey or Kumarakom for a coast-and-backwater week.

November to February is best for swimming and clear skies. The monsoon brings dramatic surf but strong currents.
