Kerala's capital has three major temples within a few kilometres of each other: Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, one of the wealthiest temples in the world with strict entry rules; Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, host to the record-breaking Pongala festival; and the newer Sree Chitra Art Gallery and Napier Museum complex nearby for a break from temple-hopping.
