Savannah has the Spanish moss, antebellum houses and old riverfront that people go to Charleston for, laid out around 22 small squares you can walk between for free. The downtown dot shuttle and the Belles Ferry across the river cost nothing, and a CAT day pass is $3. Fly into Atlanta and take a FlixBus or Greyhound for four to six hours, or fly into Savannah's own airport via a US hub. Two or three days covers the squares, Forsyth Park, Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe; the US is not cheap, so keep costs down with motels in Midtown and lunch-time meals.
